Receptionist/Bookkeeper/Secretary

Employment Basis This position is an “at will” position which means employment can be terminated by either party at any time, for any legal reason. Calvary requests at minimum a two week notice from the employee offering their resignation. Calvary will provide a month's notice before termination unless there is the presence of adverse circumstances which require immediate termination.

Supervision/Accountability The direct report for this position is the Church Administrator. The position is ultimately responsible to the Elder Board. Evaluation will take place three months after employment and yearly thereafter. 

Role Outline
● Professes faith in our Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior.
● Has read and is aligned to the Calvary Evangelical Free Church Statement of Faith.
● Church membership is recommended and preferred, but not required.
● Receptionist - 100% availability
● Additional tasks
○ Ministry team support - 30-35% of hours answering emails, printing/collating materials, creating name tags, etc.
○ Secretarial - 25-30% of hours for maintaining responsibilities as listed below
○ Bookkeeper - 25-30% of hours

Training/Certification/Competencies*
● Organizational and Administrative
● Bookkeeping, QuickBooks
● Computer skills - Word processing, Power Point, Spreadsheets, Church Center Software
● Receptionist skills – welcoming, positive, helpful, maintain confidentiality
*The church is willing to provide training for a qualified candidate who might lack experience in some of the skill areas listed. 

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include*
● Manage office work area
●Receptionist for visitors and first point of contact for phone calls
● General clerical duties to support ministry staff, ministry teams, and worship services
● Inventory control and ordering supplies
● Handle church correspondence including emails
● Church calendar and Planning Center software
● General bookkeeping tasks – data entry, printing of checks and statements
*Receptionist duties require an active physical presence. Daily call/visit volume is relatively low, allowing time for other duties.

Secondary responsibilities* (when time allows)
● General ministry assistance as requested
● Miscellaneous church duties as needed
*Hire is expected to be a self-starter and conscientious worker who will find tasks to stay productive if primary responsibilities have been completed for the day/week 

Hours/Financial
● Hours per week: 19
● Work hours: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM M-TH, 9:00-12:00 Fri
● Compensation: $16.00 per hour (A higher rate will be considered based upon experience and skill.)
