Winery Assistant
Forestedge Winery is looking for individuals to assist us in providing customers with an enjoyable and educational experience while tasting our award-winning wines. We work in a fun and fast paced environment, which changes from day to day based on weather and customers.
Job Responsibilities/Duties:
Tasting Room – 1) Perform tastings with customers, educating them on the winery products. 2) Assist customers in finding products. 3) Check-out customers. 4) Answer customer questions. 5) Stock shelfs. 6) Ware washing. [80%]
Winery Production – 1) Assist in pressing fruit to create juice for wine. 2) Assist with managing bulk wine (racking wine, washing tanks and fermenters, bottling wine). 3) Assist in filling wholesale orders. [10%]
Farm – 1) Assist in managing Rhubarb crop (weeding, tilling, picking). 2) Grounds keeping – maintaining property for the customers to enjoy (mowing, weed whipping). [10%]
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Qualified candidates must be self-motivated, be able to work as part of a team, and possess excellent communication skills
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to interact with a wide range of customers
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must complete Responsible Server Awareness Training
- Must be able to work weekends
- Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds
- Available to work the winery’s annual Art Fair at the Winery August 16 and 17
Other:
- Must sign a non-disclosure agreement related to proprietary winery operations
- Must sign a no-alcohol agreement if under the age of 21
